Farmers like new technology and especially new equipment. Some Farmers are getting both this year by setting up their new drill with an ALPINE kit so they can use ALPINE G22 as their starter fertilizer. It was nice to see that Salford Manufacturing from Salford ON offer the ALPINE kit and tank as a factory option.

The model AC3725 cart shown here has a 1300 gal tank for holding ALPINE G22. That is enough product to seed 325 acres so it’s a nice match to the seed tanks which allows for 330 acres of seeding before filling. The double disc drill has the Alpine placement tube mounted in the Schaffert seed firmer. This was all done at the factory so no set up time or crawling around on the ground to mount the tubes.

This drill had an application 300 gal tank for the ALPINE mounted right on the toolbar of the 525 series drill along with the ALPINE manifold and distribution tubes mounted & a John Blue pump right at the factory. As ALPINE use has been increasing in recent years it is certainly welcomed by the farmers to have this equipment assembled and ready to go seeding when the new drill arrives. Growers like the ability to add in micronutrients to the ALPINE because they get superior placement of the nutrients in the seed furrow which means every seed will have the micronutrient available for timely uptake.
