When I was thinking about writing this blog it was going to be a lot longer and be a more technical subject. But, on my way home today I came across, yet another, self-propelled sprayer meets car accident. Yes, in August! Luckily no one was hurt.
This spring has been stressful for everyone; with the crop going in late and the wet weather delaying virtually all time sensitive field applications. In East and Central Ontario, I am aware of 4 accidents involving large self-propelled sprayers. There have also been several accidents with large farm trucks including roll overs in fields or going into fields. There was a fatality involving a tractor and a pick up truck on the road way.
With harvest coming onto the horizon, please, everyone take the time to be safe. Have a good harvest.
