TIM AND KIT STRATICHUK
900 ACRES –
Alpine Region: Eastern Canada
"2012 was the driest year in the last 25 years of farming for Tim Stratichuk. Yields from a cornfield sprayed with ALPINE SRN and liquid potash yielded 170 bu/acre. " our farm average is normally 133 bu/acre." Test strip on his soybeans showed a 5 to 15 yield advantage over strips with no ALPINE SRN despite the spider mite infestation. "I'm convinced the ALPINE SRN minimized the impact of the mites and drought by keeping our plants strong and healthy." Stratichuk tested ALPINE SRN on corn plots in 2011 and found 15 to 40 bu/ac yield increase depending on the rate applied. "We're told 40 bu increase is not typical," but the year's growing season was soggy and likely the major factor in the massive yield increase. "I think we lost a lot of N through leaching, and the ALPINE SRN provided an immediate source of N when the crop badly needed it. Using ALPINE SRN is a long-term commitment on our farm now. It's proven that it works. The fact that we grew such a good crop during a drought speaks volumes".
